Hallo
Default Hallo

Hi all

I am a new member, just registered today. I live in Port Elizabeth in South Africa and have been growing orchids since 1987. I am a member of EPOS, that stands for the Eastern Province Orchid Society. I grow mainly cymbids, catts, zygos and a few other others. Shade house (50% white shadecloth) is 9m x 6m running east to west and north facing. Our latitude here is +-34 degrees south. It rains basically throughout the year, but usually more in the winter months. Temps range between 8 degrees at night, can be as low as 2 degrees in winter and in summer it can go up to 41 degrees.
I look forward to seeing and reading what's posted on this site and hope to be able to contribute to it.

Regards Michael

Hi Michael...welcome to Orchidboard

I'm sure with all those years of orchid growing, you will be an asset to our community Our members vary in experience yet we all help each other immensely...it's a great place to be

We'd love to see some pictures of your chids...you have access to your own gallery and you can also put pictures in your posts in the forums. On your profile page, there's a place to list what chids you have and to enter what orchid society you are a member of.

If you need help with anything, please feel free to ask

welcome to Orchidboard !
Its nice to here that you get rains all the year.we get as well.
How do you manage to supply shelter to your Cattleyas .
Are they grow vigorously . You are much down from horizon . May be cooler there.
Cattleyas need less temperature
