Default Excited to be here!

Hello!

I have had some phaleanopsis orchids for some time now and I am learning more about them all the time! Miss Orchid Girl on YouTube is very informative but I know she can't possibly cover everything. I have no clue what exactly my orchids are because they were gotten from a local grocery store.

I just purchased 2 orchids online and am so excited. I am hoping to learn all about them! There are 2 others I have been wanting to buy but have been a little nervous to do so.

I am excited to learn and grow and maybe fill my home with more beautiful plants!

I live in SW Virginia, USA. Its hot and humid in the summer here (80's and 90's daytime temps) and cold and dry in the winter (just had lows in the teens). I started a humdifier in my apartment to attempt to maintain humdity at 40-50% (I suffer too from the dryness with horribly dry skin so it helps to keep me happy too. Indoors it stays about 68 degrees. My plants live in my kitchen in front of my window. My windows are facing the west I believe. I am not opposed to adding artificial lights if it is what is best for my beautiful plants!

If winter temps are that really low in average, it seems Mexican Laelias and some rupiculous would do fine outside.
