Welcome to OrchidBoard!
You'll learn alot here and share alot.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions and you
will see that you get back several answers.
I have a sister, Bronwen, who lives in London.
Sounds like the plant you have in bloom is a
phalaenopsis.

Happy Growing!

Default Blooming Phalaenopsis

Hi again

The two blooming plants are phalaenopsis are still going and both with two spikes. My third one is showing one spike.
While I was in Glasgow I wanted to see Kibble Palace as I saw it on televison at home in south of england. Visit my sister in law and she took my husband and myself to Kibble Palace and behold they held an Orchids Show. Couldn't resist in getting an Denbrobium full of buds. Flew it home and unwraped it with full blooms (it was covered from Sunday to Wednesday) and survive okay.
The Denbrobium is my first one to try out.

Occasionally, someone very knowledgeable (like an orchid judge) can tell you what the name is if it is a unique hybrid, but most of the time you just have to call it Phal. Noid (i.e. "No ID"). You will stand a much better chance of getting it ID'ed if it is a species.

Take it to your local orchid society meeting when it's blooming and maybe someone can help you.
