Hello from the sunshine state
Default Hello from the sunshine state

New to Orchid Board and Florida, but not to growing orchids. I bloomed my first orchid, a cattleya, on a window sill in CT when I was about 12, many many decades ago.

I moved to TN on 35 acres where I had an arboretum. After major changes in my family life I decided to downsize and moved to central FL 2 years ago. I'm now living in a small house and lot with an exuberant yellow lab in a wonderful diverse old neighborhood filled with old live oaks and palmettos. I'm now ready to start collecting palms, camellias, and...ORCHIDS!

Thanks all.

DirtyCoconuts, If you mean Lake O, well north, but just south of Lake Monroe.

Ha, yes, with over 10000 i should have been more clear

i WAS referring to the Big O, it is a large and arbitrary landmark

i am a weee bit jealous bc your range of options is a lot more broad than mine.....still, i hate the cold so i'll keep my address for now
