Default Another new member.........yay it's me!!!

Hi,

My real name is Darren......;-)

I was introduced to this forum by Marleneann today and so far it looks really good.

I have been growing orchids for 5 years and am really still finding my way through it to try and work out what it is I want to grow. I go through phases and buy one thing and then tend to sell a lot of them and then move onto something else........It's probably the orchid growers form of ADD!!! I seem to be leaning towards Masdevallia's and Paphs for now.

I have been a student judge in Australia for 3 years or so and am now classified as an Associate Judge. 3 more years until I can be considered for the full Judge "title".

I live in a temperate climate that ranges greatly from winter temps of 0C (night) to 16C (day) to the summer temps of around 15C (night) to 43C (day). It is very dry here and we generally only get 500mm (20inches) of rain in a 12 month period but at the moment we have serious water shortages. I guess it's probably like Arizona in climate in some ways.

I grow outside in a couple of small shade houses all year round and am starting to have more success now.

Anyway I've rambled on long enough, thank you for letting me join your forum.

Darren

Hi Darren, I like your screen name.
Welcome the board. Just the other day in chat, we were discussing the different "phases" we were currently in. I am currently in my Phal Phase or stage, and others are in other phases. So long as you are not in the dead broke phase, you will be fine,
