Hey there, ya'll. I am a newbie, as well. I actually got my first orchid a couple of years ago, but had to give them to my sister in law because I had to move in with my son and there was no room for the orchids. I am back into my own place and found that only two of my orchids had survived, although one (and I imagine, both) had not been watered enough and has 'acordian' leaves, while the other has white powder mildew. Oddly enough, they both had a spike each with buds on them! The iwanagara has already bloomed. The spike is only coming from one plant (pseudobulb?). There are some cut off spikes on the other plants. My question
is this: how do I treat the spikes when the blooms die back? Also, am I supposed to remove the cut-off spikes so more will come out or do I leave them alone? I had just gotten started with orchids when I moved in with my son and know that I will have LOTS of questions in the coming weeks! Thanks
