Hi From New Jersey!
Hi all! I'm Megan from NJ, I just recently got into collecting orchids approximately 6 months ago. I now have a collection of 11 (all paphs and phals), most growing under lights and a few in a window (I live in a small condo). My husband thinks I'm a little nutty with it all, but totally supports my hobby. We recently took a trip to Parkside Orchids, and he enjoyed it more than I thought he would
This board has been a wealth of knowledge for me, and I look forward to contributing!

Welcome aboard, Megan. It is always a good idea to get your significant other involved in this addiction as soon as possible! Jump right in, and have fun.

Welcome Megan. My B-i-L lives near Rutgers, well, south of Rutgers a few miles right on the canal.

Sounds like he lives right near me! I'm in the Franklin/Somerset area right next to New Brunswick.

He is right near Griggstown just off Canal Road. He and his partner are into orchids in a big way, but I can't seem to get him interested in joining OrchidBoard.

Welcome Megan! I think you'll have so much fun on here! I grow mostly phals and paphs too. They're my favorites. I'm so jealous that you got to go to Parkside. That seems like it would be so much fun.

Okay, that's about 10 minutes from me. That's too bad he doesn't join, this really seems like a fun and informative community.

It was a lot of fun! I specifically went in for a Gloria Naugle, bought one of those and then spent about an hour perusing through the rest of the greenhouses. It was like orchid heaven there. If you ever get the chance to come out this way, definitely give them a visit!
