Hello from Vermont, USA

I live in the mountains of Vermont, where winter seems to last forever! Over the past four or five years, I've started to grow orchids to brighten up my home during those dreary months. I had heard that orchids are difficult to grow, so I was surprised when mine seemed to thrive. Keyword is "seemed." For quite a while I thought that orchids don't require much care after all. Then over the past 18 months or so, three of my seven plants died. I had no idea what had gone wrong.
I recently started searching the web for information, videos, and books to teach me what I need to know about saving my remaining orchids. I've learned enough now to know that I need a great deal more information if I'm going to become a successful orchid grower.
Last night I found my way to orchidboard.com and knew after a few minutes that this was a great place to learn more about orchids.
