hi all,
new orchid grower here, an american expat in germany. i have been a fanatic houseplant grower for 20 years, but just recently really got stoked on orchids! my girlfriend and i have started a modest "collection", mostly a few phals and now ordered about 3 to 4 new species. she is an excellent grower and has a couple phals that have bloomed for her over the past couple years, so i hope i don't destroy everything by being over active with the orchids!

thanks for the welcome folks! ha, this is truly an addiction, isn't it? i might have bought a couple more this weekend. a vanilla, a mini mark, and then a mystery plant! hahah, and yeah, not really knowing what species you are buying ahead of time makes things interesting!
i have a dracula i am trying to keep going by basically converting my bathroom into a cold room. and a holcoglossum mounted on a board. it's gonna be an interesting journey into the orchid world |

Schwerter. I had good luck with them on my first order so I figured why not!
I did get a Bear King from them that has a yellow leaf and that is a bit concerning, but otherwise great. And I got a bunch of pots and substrate and everything is just as expected. Spose the get the order today, so maybe I’ll follow up with some pics. |
