Hello from Oregon
Hello. My name is Fred and I live in Oregon. I think I joined 4-5 years ago but this is my first post. I bought my first orchid from Stewart Orchids in the Fall of 1972 and have been growing orchids ever since. I have a lot of older plants and think of them, and myself, as oldies but goodies. My oldest plants I've had for 45+ years. I do worry a little about viruses with an older collection, but not too much. I won’t talk about the many orchids I have killed over the decades. My wife and I also grow a lot of Tillandsias.

Welcome Fred! I'm also in Oregon. I hope I am able to achieve a 45 year old plant some day. Would love to see pics if you have time to upload a few!

Thanks Clawhammer. I'd be happy to post a few pics but I have to get 5 posts first and learn the process for uploading. I figure I should learn how anyway so I'll get on it.

I'm not so sure that the 5-post requirement works any more, I recall seeing photos from brand-new members. At any rate, you're almost there...
To post photos, click the Go Advance button under the Quick Reply Box. Scroll down a bit and you'll see the Attach Files section. Click on Manage Attachments. A pop-up window will open. You can browse to the photos that you want. Once you have selected what you want to, click Upload. Then when you Submit Reply, the pix will be in your post. A note... photos right off the phone or camera may come out sideways. The way to fix this is to run your photos through a photo editor first, then save-as (you can use the same name). That seems to reset the meta-data that controls photo orientation on the website. It's a "feature" of the forum software (In my IT days, we joked about bugs that if documented you could call it a "feature" )

A few pics
Here you go Clawhammer. I've got to get better at taking pics. In the display bench pic, the 4 complex paphs and 3 cym in the background are from 1974 to 1980.
The Pastoral 'Horizon', Cym Sunshine Falls 'Green Fantasy' and (madidum X Esmeralda) in the background from the same time frame. I kind of still have a thing for madidum hybrids. The Cym canaliculatums came from Australia 1975 or 76.
