New, and a sucker for a mistreated orchid...

, my name is Julie, but I sometimes go by Jehannette and I live in Central Florida. I am a retail garden center lurker...I dig orchids out of bad situations, buy em cheap, and nurse em back to health. I use orchid mix, 6" pots, and they all get grown outside, hanging from a tree in my front yard (I can watch em bloom from my kitchen window).

Mostly dendrobiums and Phalanopsis...I leave the vandas to my mom, who grows em over a koi pond.

I have been given another variety, a terrestrial, and am waiting until I am further along in my landscaping before I choose where to plant it. It is orange, and has smaller leaves and flowers.

I am very happy for any tips or advise that anyone has.
