Default Hello everyone

My wife and I have been collecting and growing orchids for about 5 years. We have about 40 plants on our lanai here in Florida, but consider ourselves novices. Looking forward to learniing more about enjoying our wonderful hobby from everyone else's experiences!

Welcome aboard, nolefan. You'll be surprised how fast 40 plants can multiply, especially in Florida. Have fun here!

Hi and welcome to Orchdboard!

Florida is a wonderful place for growing 'chids! What types of orchids are you currently growing? Do you keep them all out on the lanai? What do you do with them on those rare nights we get a chill here?

We'd love to see some

If you need help with anything, let us know

Default Thanks for the welcome!

We have a variety of phals (6), cats (10), dens (7), oncidiums (5), vandas (7), 1 paph, 1 cymbidium, and a few epidendrums. The usual mix. Of course, we've also lost our fair share over the years. All are out on the lanai. We usually haul them all into the garage when the temp drops down into the low 40's. Thank goodness, it doesn't get that cold often here.

From the looks of other members' profiles, we will have to start taking more pix of our orchids to share. I posted a couple that I had. The phals are all in spike right now.

Thanks for welcoming us. We're looking forward to learning more about our orchids, and hopefully lowering the mortality rate. It's great to see all the pictures to see what to get next!
