Hello from the DC area
Default Hello from the DC area

Hi Everyone,

I am in the DC area, and I am new to the orchid board. I used to grow orchids back in 2000 and then got out of it for awhile. I have since found my way back last year when I went to a local orchid show in October and bought 3 orchids-- I was bitten by the fever again, lol.

I currently have some Catts, Paphs, Dens, Zygos, Neos, Phals, and Laelias. I must say that the world of orchids has changed from the early 2000-- I do not remember so many intergeneric orchids on the market. IMO, it makes it a bit more difficult with the growing culture, since it depends upon which side the plant takes after.

Happy Growing,

Marci

Welcome to Orchidboard!! Glad to hear that you made it back to orchids, though I think that once you have the orchid bug it never completely disappears.

Agreed with Camille. We go through many different phases in life, but when one sticks it often comes back. I also agree with all of the different hybrids/intergeneric schtuff that goes on these days. For the most part, it better speak to me pretty darned well before I get it.

Happy to see ya here. Addictive, ain't it?
