Hello From Montana
Hello all!
I have been obsessed-with/growing orchids for about four years now (since I was 14), and I have amassed a collection of around 65 plants. I can post a full list if people are interested, but it would be long so I won't drop it here right now. I grow indoors (most tropical orchids don't do well in -30f and heating a greenhouse would be expensive) with a combination of pebble trays and three terrariums. I am also interested in the wild orchids that can be found around the world and I have managed to find around 20 (of 32ish) found in my home state of Montana. I have written an article for the AOS about some of Montana's orchids and I'm working on a second part currently.
Looking forward to talking to people and learning more about Orchids!

Welcome! In the spring, when you go out "orchid hunting" I look forward to seeing your in-situ photos of native orchids. I have to satisfy myself with photos, since I have no possibility of growing them in my area.

Welcome!! It's great to see younger people get involved in orchids, and especially great to see such passion for them. What types of orchids do you grow in your terrariums? A bit of everything or do you have some preferred genera?
Thanks for sharing the link to the photos, I love terrestrial orchids. I didn't realize that there were Cycripedium species in North America! I used to be lucky enough to live near the French Alps, a major orchid hotspot, but now I have to content myself with the few species there are in the Netherlands, and try to see some in France when I go see family.
