Hi everyone! My name is DJ Sturrock, I am 28 and have been growing orchids 10+ years. I love anything small and monopodial, but especially Phals. I grow the bulk of my collection under florescent lights, in my bedroom light cart. The rest are in my sunny dining room window. I have three great little girls, Haley (8) Savannah (6) and Autumn(2). They keep me very busy, but with any free time I have I spend painting...my other passion.

Hi DJ and welcome to Orchid Board! You must be busy with 3 little girls and orchids! I can barely manage just the orchids! Phals are my favorite too. Do you have any others? Definately post some . You sound like you have a great set-up. Enjoy browsing around on here and feel free to ask away!

I grow a few Phal species, mostly bellinas and violaceas...cant beat the fragrance! My violacea alba should be opening up any day now
Dorothy, I have painted a few of my plants. Always botanical style.
Lagoon it's nice to see another Quebecois! Are you a member of either of the local societies?
