Hello from upstate NY!
Default Hello from upstate NY!

Hi Everyone,

I have actually been lurking here since Jan/Feb, trying to save a rootless phal

While the plant itself is still tormenting me by not actually dying, but definitely not healing, it has sent me on a new adventure of research and discovery!

My main passion has always been dogs - I volunteer/foster for a couple of different breed rescues, and have 7 of my own.

In fact, I thought I was doing a good thing this year: I decided to buy a couple of orchids (I'm totally new to plants, much less orchids) instead of getting a puppy.

Four months into this new hobby, I already have 30 plants and have a list a mile long of more to get...

I should have gotten a puppy: I won't kill it, and much less patience required

Thank you all so far for the help and knowledge!!

Hello and welcome! You've already discovered how addicting orchids are, so I won't warn you about that. It's always an interesting journey, though, and I'm sure you're having fun, as well as learning what particular orchids do best in your growing conditions.

Wow, seven dogs! There are a good number of dog lovers on the board, and at least a few of us are involved in helping with rescue groups in one way or another.
