I've been reading some posts here but I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Jeff and I'm gathering knowledge so I can get started with orchids.

I was looking through this site and a few others, ended up printing out a bunch of pictures and taking them to my glassblowing shop. Below (and my avatar) is what I made the first day I read this forum: Hope you enjoy!

I used this picture as my model. I think it is a doritaenopsis orchid.

The picture had 'doritaenopsis' in it's Properties, but it also looks like a Phalaenopsis. I need to keep studying.

A doritaenopsis is the hybrid of a Phal and Doritis .. they are now classified as Phalaenopsis ..

It's beautiful!!! That is a wonderful piece of work! Does it take long to make something like that? It looks so perfect.
Is glassblowing your job, or do you do it as a hobby? In any case, keep up the excellent work!
