Red Flowers with Yellow Centers?
I used to have these growing on a tree when I lived in Sarasota, FL and I can't remember the name for the life of me. It's a hybrid, probably from one of the Florida commercial growera that supplied Lowe's or HD.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Exactly what I was going to suggest! I've been keeping an eye out for one in Europe for years, but they're not common here.

That's exactly what it is. I remembered it had a distinct name I would recognize as soon as I saw it - thanks so much!
By the way, one of my favorite things about this orchid for anybody interested is that it was always a very profuse bloomer, in flower for 8 months out of the year ![Very Happy](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif) ![Wink](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Is it difficult to import flasks of orchid hybrids to the EU?

As a note to the OP, if you're searching for the plant, it's been reclassified as a Guaritonia, so you may find it under one or both names.

I have no idea, but there's most likely paperwork involved, and there's no orchid I want badly enough to go through that headache. Especially since I don't master Dutch enough yet to fully understand the customs website. My recent idea was asking 2 vendors I shop at if it's possible to make special requests when they import from south america.

The good news is that this thread prompted me to look again for this orchid (last time I checked vendor websites for it was last summer) and I found it at an Italian vendor! I rarely shop there due to the shipping costs, but I'll make an exception this time!
