Hi there, I passed a demolishing site today and while looking for mounting material I found these orphans. Number 4 and 5 were attached to a chopped down Avocado tree, the rest were in pots, potted in sand (as hard as a rock and as dry as a bone). It is now late evening and I will repot them early tomorrow morning.
I think the third picture is a cymbidium, based on what the backbulb looks like. I don't think an oncidium backbulb would have so many layers of old leaves on it.

I have to agree that the third is a cymbidium. The backbulb is plump, round in shape, leaves are overlapping, many oncidiums are plump but the layer of leaves usually come from the sides. I am not an expert but if I am incorrect hopefully someone will chime in and help us out.
