Yea, I'm pretty much in the triage stage with the plants on the property. Fortunately, a bunch of them have been doing OK (i.e. not dying) under a regime of neglect, so I left those until I figure out what make the most sense, but some others are in pretty bad shape. I took a bunch of the ones on the edge and tried a few things to see what they like; put one vanda in a rock/medium-bark mix, another couple vanda with very short roots in a makeshift glass culture, mounted a pair of oncidiums on cactus stalks, and put a whole mess of other in medium bark (I have limited access to coarse material and baskets at the moment) just because it seems better than leaving them in the clay of the yard. Will let you know how they fair.
P.S. i just noticed that one of the vandas as a spike in the front yard.
