Looking for this phal
Default Looking for this phal

Hi guys. I've seen videos and pictures of pink phals with white around the petal edges like this one. Would love to own one. Can anyone please give me a name so I can try to find one to buy? Thanks!

I believe these phals you're seeing are just mass-produced hybrids. They are NoIDs.

Plant-producing companies often mass produce (breed) various phals and whatever looks nice gets sent to supermarkets.

If you want to own one you'll have to go looking around local supermarkets to see if they have it. Or go online and search "phalaenopsis" or "orchid" or something similar on eBay.

A little tip for you: if you go to images.google.com, and click on the camera icon, you can paste the URL of the photo, and it will search for similar images.

Most of the time, I use that to see if folks are stealing my images, but sometimes, if you find a similar flower, the location of that image will lead you to the source of that plant.

There are a number of hybrids that can have flowers like this. Often the growing conditions affect how noticeable flower details like this are.

You might also try contacting Norman's Orchids. The owner is a Phal expert with sources in Taiwan, where many Phals are bred and produced.

Thanks for the responses guys! Ray, that google search is a very handy tool. Did not know that was there before. Sweetjlbue, there is a phal on that site you suggested that has a huge spike. That does look enticing. Estacion seca, I actually found what I was looking for on Norman's site. Thanks! Saka, was having a hard time finding it online on my own but looks like this worked out
