I bought this handsome friend at the supermarket because it is my birthday and I wanted to treat ma self. It was just labeled "exotic orchid" and had care instructions similar to what I'm used to with my cattleyas. I'm a sucker for yellow and other warm colors, so I grabbed this friend over the other friends available.

An ID would be appreciated so I can look up more info on care! I know enough to recognize that this isn't a phal but otherwise I am too inexperienced to know.

ETA: It has a smell! It's subtle but if you sniff the flowers there is a definite floral aroma. What a lovely surprise! I'll try to notice if the smell is stronger at certain times of the day, as that seems to be a thing with orchids.

That is an Oncidium. It looks like it may be one of the ones which was called Wilsonara (an intergeneric hybrid between Odontoglossum, Cochlioda, and Oncidium), however Odontoglossum and Cochlioda are now considered Oncidium, so the Wilsonaras are now just Oncidiums.

But at any rate, general Oncidium intergeneric care will work well for this.

Thank you! That is very helpful. I tend to think of Oncidium as having large sprays of tiny flowers, so I didn't even think of it as an option.
