Update:
Contacted the vendor and found out that it is indeed Macodes Petola. He said that the addresses got swapped because the guy that ordered macodes was also in the same region (Sleman).
Ah, I can understand the disappointment of ordering an orchid, the anticipation of its arrival, only to have it be something other than what you were expecting. So what are you going to do? I hope the vendor has agreed to resend the correct plant at no additional charge, or give you a full refund.
Still, that Macodes Petola is a very cute little thing. I find the foliage very attractive. I hope you'll keep it and give it a nice home.
Your disappointment is understandable when you don't get what you ordered.
At least Macodes should do well in your climate.
It is by far my favorite of the jewel orchids but is hard for me to keep alive as it does not handle my lack of humidity well at all.
I contacted the vendor to see if I should return it. The vendor will send over pachyphyllum. Now that I've seen it, I want to keep it the gold sparkles are really nice!
As it is the vendor's mistake, he should allow you to keep it and I would expect probably will. Would be costly -- having sent you the wrong plant to begin with -- to then also pay the postage to have you mail it back to him ... more than the plant would be worth.
