Aloha All,

I am new to the Orchid Board and was hoping you could help me identify a Paphiopedilum that was given to me a couple years back. I hope that these pics are sufficient, the flower is still opening a bit (I was a bit too excited to share before it to open fully).

The lighter parts of the leaves have a bit of shimmer/sparkle to them. The undersides of the leaves are a deep purple.

Thank you very much and I look forward to being part of this community.

I believe it is a hybrid, so you're never going to know for sure, but it looks a lot like Paph. Greyi to me.

The first one looks like paph greyi. The small bits of red have me a bit confused. It could be a paph greyi hybrid made with slightly different parents.

Thank you all very much for the suggestions and warm welcome. As a NOID hybrid, it'll probably stay that way. Previously I had been leaning on something with Parvisepalum influence, perhaps Paph. Armeni White.

Side note; the past year I have been starting to use SH and you all (especially Ray) have been so helpful and generous with your knowledge/experience. Thanks again.

Hi All,

I was just reading some other threads which said that one can only include pics after making several (five) posts.

Are the pictures in my original post visible? If not, sorry of the poor description of the plant. I will add pictures as soon as I'm able.

When I click on each of your original links I see the photo.

Ok, thanks.

Named or not, it's a welcome addition in the home. Next time I post pictures I will work on getting the thumbnails to work.
