I understand that once a Noid, always a noid, but I would like an Id or something close on this - just for reasons of culture.

I’m assuming it’s an oncidium crossed with something, but what?

Cheers
Arron

Sorry, blank post and no way to delete it.

Yes, it is an oncidium hybrid, and general oncidium care will be fine. Plenty of water, good drainage so it doesn't stay soggy, medium light and intermediate temperatures will likely make the plant happy.

Nice find, lots of flowers.

Oncidium hybrids from big box retailers could be crossed with multiple species, it's really impossible to tell what else is in there. Fortunately, it doesn't matter as far as culture, they aren't fussy.

Of course any discussion of what this plant may be is only speculation, but it doesn't look to me like it has any Brassia or Miltonia in it, so it's "pure" Oncidium, rather than one of the complex intergenerics like Beallara or Aliceara. It may be one of the hybrids formerly known as Wilsonara (Odontoglossum x Cochlioda x Oncidium), but as Odontoglossum and Cochlioda have been merged with Oncidium, it would just be Oncidium now.

But as the others said, general Oncidium care should be fine.
