I would have also said Clivia based on the leaves, but I don't think that they have rhizomes like that.

I completely failed to find any relevant images on the internet so I unpotted one of my sad and neglected Clivias....



The plant on the left is the original plant, the others are offshoots. One is still attached.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten that if a leaf is cut a bit of "slime" is produced.

Thanks for going through all that trouble to show me the plant. Wow actually they look very similar. When I got the plant the roots looked dry and grey. I soaked them in a bucket of water for one day. They returned to life and the roots became white. I planted it them in a normal potting mix and hoped that it will work. I can't wait to see the flower blooming, but after reading about the plant it seems I have to wait a bit before I see it. Well I guess that is the beauty of it. Have a great day everyone.
