At least 68 awarded clones alone, and many many unawarded ones, and perhaps thousands of individual unnamed non-clone seedlings have been sold as well. Some are virtually indistinguishable and some look nothing like each other. The plants in this thread are almost certainly Tiger Crow and 2 clones of Wildcat, but attaching any specific clonal name just isn't realistic, no matter how much it may "look just like" unless there are additional circumstances to considered.

So excited to find the TJs post as I love picking through their “exotic” corner past all the generic moths!
I’ve also got what appears to be the first posted pic?

Another intergeneric but not from TJ's
I thought I'd post this here - even though it didn't come from Trader Joe's (it came from Cal-Orchids, at their fall open house).
Anyone have any idea about a more current name for this? (Is there a new "genus" [nothogenus?] for Wils x Oda?)
Wilsonara Firecracker 'Red Hot'
x
(Odontioda Petit Port x Odontioda Taw)

Plugged it into the Orchidwiz Genus calculator... Odontioda x Wilsonara = Wilsonara.
Makes sense... Odontioda = Odontoglossum x Cochlioda, Wilsonara = Odontoglossum x Cochlioda x Oncidium. So Ondontioda is a subset of Wilsonara. No additional genera in there... Lumping Odontoglossum and Oncidium could make it all Odontioda, I guess.

Thanks!
Haven't wanted to shell out for OW cuz I'd have to buy a PC, and I don't need to know everything about every orchid - I only have about 125 of them. On the other hand, it would be nice to be able to have all that knowledge at my fingertips!
Thanks again, when I was looking at it, I was thinking - this is all Wilsonara!
On the other hand, unless it got named/awarded, there's no single name for it. I like it though (why I bought it )

For the occasional lookup, just ask... I, and quite a few other Forum readers are happy to look it up for you. Your addiction is still under control
