Today I bought another orchid (I was at an orchid show in Vienna... )
It is a hybrid between Laelia briegeri and Sophronitis brevipeduculata, so it's some kind of Sophrolaelia,
or something in these lines. I'm not completely up to date with the taxonomy of this group.
What I'm asking is, does this hybrid have any specific name or i just call it by its parents?

It's beautifuly red:

This cross has not been registered, so you can only go by the parents. If it was registered today both parents are considered Cattleya, so it would also be Cattleya. Previously it would have been Sophrolaelia, or briefly Sophronitis. There might have been a time someone would have wanted it to be Hoffmannseggella x Hadrolaelia, but I think we can all be relieved that never happened.

It is an excellent deep red color. How big is the plant?

The bulbs are pehaps 4-5 inches (10-12 cm) with 1-2 leaves of the same lenght.
Flowers'll be a bit more than 5 cm / 2 inches across when they'll fully open.
Maybe flowers are a bit small for the hybrids in this alliance, but the colour . I really like it.
So currently ints Cattleya briegeri x brevipeduculata. Excelent, it simpler.

Very graceful as well. Reminds me of a swan.
