Is it Zygopetalum crinitum?
Default Is it Zygopetalum crinitum?

I'm curious... after comparing pics at IOSPE, Zygopetalum crinitum seems like the most similar one. So is it, or is it not?

Sorry, I can't answer your question ...
Are you certain it is a species?

I think there are similar looking hybrids as well.
It's lovely whatever its name might be.

It could be Zygopetalum crinitum. Or maybe not. If it's a species then it's possible that a botanist could study the flower and determine so but if it's a hybrid it's essentially impossible. Enjoy it for the beautiful flower, and really, does the name even matter?

I am going to say no it is not a Zygopetalum crinitum. It very well could be a Zygopetalum crinitum Hybrid. I think it might be safe to say it is. What it is mixed with not sure.

Does it smell?

I have a no ID Zygopetalum it does not smell much. You really have to stick your nose in the flower to get any scent.
