If anyone would please help me understand this tag I would really appreciate it. No luck looking up the abbreviations so far.

Thank you.

Theo.

P.S. if the tag photo does not show up I'll try to attach the photo. The information, as I see it, reads: CLMC-N-Multi YST P. Strips Vivian

i think maybe the (CLMC-N Multi YST) part is some sort of code used by the grower? just a thought...what sort of plant is it?

Thank you for your reply dounoharm. The flower is not in bloom nor do I have a photo to send but the plant is most likely a Doritaenopsis, or something very similar.

I believe you are right on the nature of the tag. Unfortunately it's driving me nuts

Respectfully,
Ted

I assume it is a Phalaenopsis. As mentioned, the first info is just something the grower uses. I think the name is P. (Phal) Stripe Vivien. I checked my newly updated Orchid Wiz and there is no registered name like that. So it could be that the grower named it but didn't pay to register it. That happens a lot in the Phal industry. It could at some time in the future become registered.

Thanks Silken. The reason I thinking it's a Doritaenopsis is because the blooms are smaller than any of my Phalaenopsis.

Thank you for taking the time to look it up for me.

Doritaenopsis have all been reclassified as Phals now so the P. would still be correct.
