Question Cymbidium (NoID) ?

Cymbidium (NoID) thrown out as overgrown 50cm pot a decade ago. Can you help identify it?

It certainly looks like it contains Cym traceyanum or Cym iridiodes. If you were in the northern hemisphere, I would say Cym. Chen's Ruby, which is in spike right now. But at least where I live, it is a late summer bloomer rather than late winter/early spring... So it probably isn't that one... It's very nice, at any rate.

Thanks heaps Roberta. I've checked the internet for these three and Cymbidium iridioides (from Wikimedia Commons) shows an image which is very similar, the only difference is the red spotting on the labellum. I think I can discount the other two possibilities. Mine has a spike cycle from June to October.

Cym. tracyanum looks a lot like iridioides... spotting pattern a little different. I suspect that it is a hybrid with either of those. Probably impossible to have an exact ID, many hybrids look similar.
