Default Help - Oncidium Type Rescue Orchid Needs Name

I rescued this beauty from Home Depot. I know it is an Oncidium (lightly fragrant) type BUT which one.

Can you please help. It will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I can't be certain, of course, but that looks like Odontocidium Catatante.

EDIT: Here is the cultivar 'Kilauea Karma' for comparison:

Well, not every purchase is a "rescue", unless you bought this a long time ago in bad shape.

As for your question, it is nearly impossible to say more than "Oncidium alliance hybrid". That should be enough to be able to figure out how to grow it & enjoy it. I have a few no ID orchids (NOIDs) and don't worry about the lack of names.

Beyond that, if you need a name, how about "Larry"? I have one species orchid that has changed official names so many times that I now just call it "Bob".

Thank you Ray. I looked at quite a few images via Google and agree with your assessment.

Orchid Whisperer sorry I don't agree with you on this one but do respect and appreciate your help.
In my opinion any orchid that is being severely mistreated (as most are at Home Depot) can be rescued from those conditions and provided a loving home.
Being on this board means to me to not only get help, like I did in this case, but also to satisfy a curiosity to find more and more about orchids even if it is just their name. The whole process is. Very interesting.
That is just my opinion.
