Can someone help identify these small orchids?
Default Can someone help identify these small orchids?

Hi!

Someone got me these orchids from South America, but no idea what they could be.
Can anyone help me identify them and give some good advice on their keeping?

Not sure the pictures show, I uploaded them into an album, please follow this link:

Many thanks!

Sorry, but it is almost impossible to ID without flowers.

From the picture I'm not even sure the broader leaved ones are orchids, possibly aroids. Closer pictures clearly showing roots and how leaves/growths emerge from the base of the plant might help.

The first one is probably an Epidendrum.

With the last one closer pictures of the base of the plant might help too.

Thanks for the help! I'll take closer photos tomorrow.
They don't seem overly happy unfortunately, that's why I'm trying to finally find out what they could be to figure out their needs better. Mostly I'm looking for a path to make them happy rather than an accurate name.

I'm not sure either about the one with round leaves... The roots are really orchid-like, I'll upload some pictures. It's tiny.

Did a quick search on Epidendrum - Epidendrum trialatum looks really similar to the first one. It's growing some keikis but it seems to me as a rather desperate try to survive..

I put some more photos up.

The first one could be an Epidendrum. The second and third photo look like a young Strangler Fig(Ficus). The fourth photo could be a small rock cattleya or one of it's many cousins. Mho.

Thumbs down

Looks like illegal collecting and smuggling to me. Better tell your "friends" not to do this. Instead of asking for names here.
