My mom almost killed this plant and we saved it by taking a single pseudobulb and potting it up sideways like you'd do for a Dendrobium cane. This year it has decided to flower and I'm very happy that we ended up saving it, any idea as to what it could be? Also, it flowers from the base, not from new growths like usual.
I'd bet on C. nobilior. The striping in the lip is far more typical for that species than for C. walkeriana. Flowering from the base those are the only choices. Most hybrids with other species involved lose that characteristic. There is a hybrid between the 2, C. Brazilian Jewel, that might be hard to rule out. No matter which, nice save!
