I'll have to wait until I'm home and have more resources to see if I can suggest anything on the others.

Interesting though the reference I looked at for S. lindleyana described it as an epiphyte or terrestial. They sure look like they are growing on rocks to me. Will go back up for a closer look.

Orchid seeds don't always read the references before they decide where to geminate.

True. Went back and looked again. While most were on or near rocks they appeared to be growing on soil nearby or trapped in the rocks...although it could be really hard to discern the difference in some cases. See pic.

By contrast, the Epidendrum I originally posted is obviously lithophytic...actually growing in rock.
