Help find this Vanda parents
Hello,
I am trying to piece together the genealogy of my vanda.
From the label that was on the flask it is a cross between Vanda Yano Blue x Vanda Kultana Fushia.
I was able to piece together the side of Vanda Yano Blue , but I can not find information on Vanda Kultana Fuschia.
Can someone help me identify the parents?
thanks Nicola

Hi, I couldn't find it either, however, it seems that Kultana is a company. So, you possibly could try contacting them and verifying if they registered this variety and the parents.

Do. Or do not. There is no try.

I can confirm that there is no registered hybrid called V. Kultana Fuchsia (most likely spelling) or V. Kultana Fushia, or V. Kultana Fuschia. I wonder if it should be V. Kultana 'Fuchsia'. V. Kultana would be a reasonable cross for V. Yano Blue. Unless you can contact the source of the cross I doubt there is any way to know. Unfortunately, accurate naming is getting to be rare, but clearly most people who buy orchids don't care so it is hard to expect the sellers to care.

Did you ask the company from whom you bought it? They might deal with the company in Thailand that produces the plants called Kultana.

Thanks for the advice, I will try to contact Kultana.
With a bit of luck could be that they are the producers of the flask.

Thanks for your effort.
I too have thought of a spelling mistake.
But of the 45 hybrids of Vanda that I found with the registered name Kultana No one has similar name.
I hope you're right and it's Vanda Kultana Fuchsia x Vanda Yano Blue , seems an interesting combination.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I bought the flask at a flower market in Bangkok, from a small retailer.
However this gives me hope that the manufacturer is in fact Kultana.
I'll try to contact them and I will see if it is so.

Somewhere on the Internet, sometime in the last few weeks, I've seen a hybrid involving Kultana Fuchsia. Just can't recall where.

Thanks estacion seca.
I'm pretty sure the flask has been produced by Kultana.
I went on their website and in the page for vanda hybrids I found two with fushia in the name.
On the flask in addition to the label appears a written code but unfortunately is difficult to read.

Maybe if you take a picture and E-mail it to them they can tell you what it says.
