Default Identification Please!

I got this little orchid about a year ago, while I lived in Florida. It had an ID tag, but in the cross-country move back home to Montana the name tag seems to have disappeared.... It's small, the pot is a 2.5", and the leaves are maybe 4-6", flowers are maybe an inch... Any ideas? And thanks in advance!

It seems to be doing fairly well, its bloomed twice for me since we've been back. It's in a humidity tray in a south-facing frosted window with a couple of carnivorous plants and a Christmas cactus...

Genus is Tolumnia. The species have also been called Oncidium in the past. It's probably a hybrid. There is a lot of information about them here in the Oncidium forum; I learned a lot there about my first one. The most important things to remember are they need very bright light and they need to dry out fast after frequent good soakings.

Yes, a Tolumnia, or possibly Rodrumnia (Rogriguezia x Tolumnia, but hardly distinguishable after a couple generations), definitely a hybrid. Most the hybrids are extremely variable within the cross and essentially indistinguishable between crosses. Also, many are sold as NoIDs or under unregistered names so a more precise ID is impossible. You seem to have the culture right - bright, warm, humid, and small pot or mounted to dry quickly.

As mentioned, Tolumnias are very variable, even between named hybrids. And often have considerable changes in colour, depending what temperature they are grown in. One of mine was barely recognizable as the same plant a year after purchasing it in bloom and then blooming it in my cool greenhouse. Went from dark pink when I bought it to yellow!

Looks like a Tolumnia Red Berry. I like to make tags with a strip of paper covered over with scotch tape on the side top edge of my pots. That way if a tag goes missing you still have an ID plus it is a great way to see the plants name at a glance without pulling a tag out.

Thanks everybody! After seeing Tolumnia, i remember that from the tag!!
I figured that I had success in that window with orchids in the past and it should be good spot for this little bugger, and it appears it is!

It does look a lot like Tolumnia Red Barry (correctly with an a). I wouldn't be surprised if there are also plants out there for sale labeled Tolu. Red Berry, but that is an unregistered name. Plants sold with unregistered names or no names can be anything, and not always the same thing under the same name, they just fit the type.

I doubt it's Red Barry. It could be, but every single Red Barry I've seen had saturated red lip, not washed out like this one.
You'll just have to call it Tolumnia NOID 'Red Cutie'.
