Lets play guess that monopodial.
I purchased this monopodial many years ago and it never had a tag. It has never thrived for me, in 6 years it has put out 3 leaves and has never bloomed. I have tried very bright light, dim light, drier and wetter conditions.... currently treating it like a phalenopsis and while its not dead it not really alive either. The leaves are about 10" long.

I can't seem to post a link to the photo, it says "Post denied. New posts are limited by number of URLs it may contain and checked if it doesn't contain forbidden words." So here is the photobucket location, remember to swap the xx out for tt

It appears to be an Angraecum.
I think it is an Angraecum. I have attached two pictures of mine for comparison. Mine has the name of Angraecum " Crestwood Tomorrow Star".
The care I give to mine is:
South facing window, lower level of a 2 story home. It sits mid-table, middle of a double window, right next to the window. When the high temps. are in the 70 - 80's and the low temps are in the 55 - 68 (farenheit) I will place it outside to initiate spiking.
I mist it several times a day, especially the exposed roots and bark surface. I thoroughly water at least once a week (This means I set it in the sink or tub and completely spray the bark for 2 to 5 minutes. Then I come back 15 minutes later and do so again. I have it planted in a large bark mix in a coconut lined wire basket.
I feed weakly, weekly. (Kind of - I frequently miss a week here or there). Better Gro - Orchid Plus urea free: 20-14-13, & I switch to Better Gro - Bloom Booster urea free: 11-35-15.
I started a 3 weeks high nitrogen, one week bloom booster routine this spring as an experiment. Then at the end of August I switched to 3 weeks of bloom booster fertilizer, and 1 week high nitrogen fertilizer with a thorough media flush in between the 2 types of fertilizer.
Once a month I have added 1/4th teaspoon of super thrive when I am in the high nitrogen portion of the cycle. Once a month during the Bloom Booster portion of the cycle I add 1 teaspoon of Epsom Salts.
I have 2 (possibly 3) spikes starting now. I am afraid one spike may have been damaged by water sitting in the leaf axis for too long. If it has rained or I have been too heavy-handed with watering I will tilt the plant to drain the excess water.

That definitely looks like it, are the ends of your leaves slightly split? Mine don't end in a nice curve or point there is a bit of a bump almost like a pair of leave fused together with one always slightly longer than the other.

I have no doubt it is Angraecum, probably Angcm. sesquipedale or one of its hybrids. The uneven lobes at the end of the leaf are characteristic, but the leaf length may be a little short for a mature sesquipedale. Until it blooms that's probably as close as you can get, but at least you can be certain of the culture.

Yes, not a good trait for compulsive people who need to have things be symmetrical!

As much light or more than my Cattleyas. Just remember to increase the light gradually to avoid burning the plant.
