What is it?
Default What is it?

Hi guys When we moved into this house in December, this orchid was attached to a decorative palm in front of the house.

We have had a severely dry season, with little rain. The orchid looked to be burning up as it was in direct scorching sun all say. So I recently decided to put it where I could care for it adequately. I believe it to be a Cattleya.

A couple of months ago I removed it from the palm and mounted it and watered and fed it. As of a few days ago I saw these buds (or what I think are buds anyway, I could be wrong

Can anyone identify this Cattleya, and what the flower could possibly look like. The leaves are thick but long and on the thin side.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Orchid hugs!

WhiteRabbit I think it is a Brassavola of some kind.

PaphMadMan it's 11 inches from the tip of the leaves up to where the roots begin. The root ball is about 4 inches.
