Default NoID mini Dendrobium

I was given this little Dendrobium a couple years ago and thought it might be a species because of the size, but now it's bloomed and I'm clueless. It seems a lot like nobile including the fragrance. It's just so small!

I don't grow Dendrobiums usually so any advice would be welcomed. Thanks!

Very pretty! You're right that it's related to nobile. Could be a line-bred form of Den. moniliforme (type species of both the whole genus and section Dendrobium, aka the 'nobile-type' species), but much more likely a complex hybrid with substantial moniliforme ancestry, along the lines of Ise, Nagasaki, and many others. No certain ID will ever be possible, though, unless the person you got it from has record of it.

Care of these is pretty much as for any other 'nobile-type': warm, moist summers with moderate fertilizer and cooler, drier, brighter winters without nutrient supplementation. Some species in this section naturally experience almost total dryness in late winter and early spring but moniliforme isn't one of those, and for me this type stays healthier and blooms best with some winter watering.

Thanks, that is helpful.
I send a picture to the guy who gave it to me and see if it jogs his memories. This is the only noid in my collection, but I think I'll keep it no matter what.
