Maybe it's cattleya alliance?
hey folks!
Does anyone know what this is? Or have a guess? I have seen this for weeks in this store I frequent, and I am convinced that (1) it is an orchid and (2) it is in sheath. I really want to get it, but I'd rather get it knowing that it won't be ugly when it blooms!!
It is growing in pure sphagnum moss.
That is all I know! Throw out ideas if you have them!

I can't upload more than one photo at a time from my phone so I will post others in subsequent posts!

I was going to guess a masdevallia (if it is an orchid), but I don't own any of those.

I would guess some sort of Pleurothalllid, maybe Masdevallia, otherwise, not sure. It does look like there is a sheath in the one photo.

Certainly appears to be some Pleurothallid, so definitely an orchid, and not Catt alliance. A flower will be necessary to be sure of the genus.

Definitely a pleuro of some type and $24 is probably paying a bit too much for a noid pleuro.

I'm acquainted with a gal who works in the shop and I just did her a favor so she is going to cut me a deal on a plant at some point.
I will take all these ideas and go off to find out what it is!
