Any Ideas on Species?

We found this orchid for sale on Craigslist. I was told it was a 17 year old White Cattleya but that's all. It has some new leaf and root growth but i don't know if it is salvageable. Any advise is appreciated since this is our first Cattleya (maybe). Thanks!

After careful maneuvering around the site, it looks like a dendrobium, possibly related to Den. speciosum maybe? Hard to tell.Catt's normally don't have psb's that look like that.

Welcome to the OB.
It looks more like a Schomburgkia to me.

Thanks Joann i agree! Now to figure out what to do with this orchid....

It's a sun lover and hates having its roots jacked with. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice Joann. However, I just got done jacking with the roots. The orchid is actively growing new pseudobulbs so i wanted to get it a bigger pot and better growing medium. It was sitting in potting soil and as much as i did not want to disturb it i couldn't leave it like that. The orchid was also sitting on the ground when i found it. It had a number of worms, ants, and roly polies living in it. I put it in a bark, charcoal, and perlite mix in a slightly larger pot. Hopefully it will take to its new home.

Myrmecophilia Christianae is white.

Gets huge.

I've added an updated photo of this orchid to "My Orchids". It seems much happier in the new medium vs. the old potting soil. The new growths are doing great!

After looking up photos of Schomburgkias and Myrmecophilas I have found the genus' of the orchid that I had seen a week or two ago while browsing through the Yamamoto Orchids greenhouse.
I found it fascinating.
Smallish about 6" long PBs [kind of crescent shaped, dendrobium looking] and long inflorescences with clumps of fascinating flowers way up in the air on their ends.

It was being kept in a greenhouse that was used to propagate and grow Nobile hybrids on a table right in the middle of them.
I assume it will take similar growing conditions as a Yamamoto Nobile hybrid.
General Care
But after looking at Schomburgkia and Myrmecophila in the IOSPE, they can require conditions anywhere from cool to hot depending on the species.
