Encyclia (?) from Coatepec, Veracruz state, Mexico
Dear all, please could you help me to identify this (most likely) Encyclia species? The flowers are small, of about 2 cm. Got it in Coatepec, Veracruz state, Mexico. Any tip will be appreciated.
Very interesting! Looks like Prosthechea (Encyclia, Pollardia) livida, or something closely related. Could you post a photo of the whole plant, please?

Dear Nat,
Thank you very much for the help. I will possibly be able to take a photo of the whole plant next Sat or so: it is in my country house, and now I am in the city.
All the best,
Vladimir
Yes, this is Prosthechea (Pollardia) livida, or something very closely related. Prosthechea for lumpers, Pollardia for splitters. It may have been called Encyclia at one time too and probably Epidendrum, but either is just plain wrong in current terms.
