One of the traits of the Doritis species is the straight, erect flower stems, or inflourescence, which yours seems to have. It is a shame the supplier did not provide the name. Are you sure it is a true species and not a hybrid? If it is a species, it can be identified by an expert, but if it is a hybrid, there is no way to identify it specifically as there are so many.
Again, I hope this helps!
(Later that same day.......)
I now have read that DNA testing shows that the
Doritis genus, long thought to be a close relative of
Phalaenopsis, is actually a branch of
Phalaenopsis genus. but from what I see there might be three varieties that some are still considered
Doritis with
buyssoniana being one of the three - I am not sure. It seems like the
Gods of Orchids are playing around with the names again - but hopefully genetic testing results will finally put a permanent name to many....Your plant is definitely of that family though, and I would strongly suspect it is
buyssoniana or if it is a hybrid, it is heavily influenced by
buyssoniana.
