mysterious plant

I found this plant growing between my drimiopsis maculata that I collected from our mountain range not so long ago. And today this plant just suddenly appears out of nowhere. I took all the soil together with the plant. So because of 52 species of orchids growing naturally in Gauteng I thought it was an orchid. It looks a lot like some of the ground orchids. What should i do leave it in the and wait to see if it blooms? Take it out of the pot and see if it there is a tuberoid?

It is becoming winter here in south africa.

I can't really say what you *should* do, but if it were mine, I'd probably wait and see if it blooms ...

Just so you know...digging up those orchids (even for personal collections) is likely illegal. Before collecting any other wild orchids (or any plants!)...check and see if you could be putting yourself at risk for hefty fines and/or even jail time. My understanding of it is that most areas in Africa and Madagascar require special permits for collecting...even if you aren't selling/exporting the plants.

Better to check and be sure you won't get in trouble.

I know that very well. I collected them in one of our friends garden which runs into the mountain. And at the time I was not thinking of any orchids coming up.
