It is really hard to say you have exactly ID'ed a hybrid by looking at a photo, unfortunately. When you consider how many siblings come from one seed pod, many looking very similar or close, it is really next to impossible to say for sure what you have. You can often do such with a pure species, but even then there are natural mutation within the same variety, which makes ID'ing them a little difficult at times.
I'm like you - if I don't like the fragrance of a particular plant, I tend to find it a new home so I can make a space for one I appreciate more.
Interesting about fragrances - the greenhouse I volunteer at have several very fragrant species such as Maxillaria tenuifolia with it's overpowering Coconut-Cream-Pie smell - I always point out the fragranced blooms to visitors - some cannot smell the Maxillaria at all, while others smell things such as toffee, buttery vanilla, etc. Most smell the coconut, but some don't. One lady thought we were pulling her leg as she kept burying her nose in the blooms and got nothing!
Odd factoid.....
Good luck finding it a new home if you decide to do so! I bet someone will adore it......

I'm not sure of the name, but it sure looks like a keeper to.
