Thanks, all, I appreciate the advice.

Mu daughter said this one "spoke" to her.

I'm spoiling Mr. Phal. He's getting bottled artesian spring water.

Yeah - I grew up drinking water from a fresh water well, and "city water" has never appealed to me, but this really tastes bad. I ONLY drink bottled water here - even our cat drinks RO water!

Interesting how some people mist and some don't. I don't, the danger is leaving droplets in the crown which can cause crown rot. Not something you want at all.

I find that Phals just don't need it in my environment. If I'm going to mist at all it's only the roots.

I noticed that phals with this coloring are called "harlequin" phals. However, a specific ID is going to be impossible to find!!
But I have one similar to this.

Good luck, and may you catch the orchid bug!

Beautiful Phal , my advice is unless the plant is in a greenhouse where there is artificial temperature . Moving fans that push air around and automated misting units that remind us of tropical rain.
I see the household Phal being misted a completes waste of time it does nothing for the plant oh and humidity trays too. I've grown Phals for years long before I had my outdoor set up they were in my bedroom with glass doors. There was hardly any air and humidity in the room was about 10% yet they bloom and rebloom year after year. So that's why I say it's non important. However every grower is different for me I say why fuss over them when it doesn't need it.
