Cool plant! I agree it looks like a Vanda relative rather than Dendrobium, and I'd suggest maybe genus Thrixspermum. Hope this helps!

djf051, yup! That pretty well describes what is happening on this orchid. I thought because the leaf spacing was similar to a Dendrobium cane that it was indeed a Dendrobium. But now I'm seriously questioning that, especially since the root growth is coming out from all over like a Vanda alliance plant would do.

I'm taking it into our society meeting with the hopes that the person who donated it to the raffle will be there. Hopefully, I'll either get an answer or narrow down who donated it.

ROFL!!! I'll have to check that out! I actually ended up with pneumonia and pleurisy Friday so wasn't able to attend the OS meeting. I did take pics and sent them to a few people to see if they could track the person down who either donated it or won it at the raffle. Haven't heard back from them yet.

Sbrofio started it off with his Arachnis suggestion. I know only one specie that is white (hookeriana)...

I don't exactly know how I did it since I can't duplicate the search!
