Zygo ID please

Yup zygonisia of some kind. I have the same one as you did you get it at trader joes?

As for the spots if it is not causing problems with growth don't worry about it. Tea tree oil will cause more problems then good! I used it straight and caused part of the leaf to turn brown and it is very ugly. Maybe diluted it could be ok but IME don't use it on plants.

Don't let water sit on leave. I always wipe mine down after a heavy watering. No spots on mine.

Ok great . I didn't know these types didn't like water on their leaves. For the tea tree oil have have it diluted in a water bottle I put 1 -2 drops per whole bottle. With a bit of dish detergant. Last time I used it the leaves were nice and shiny.

The spots are on the underside of the newer growths with spikes.

Yeah I was dumb and put the oil right on the leaf.

Your mix sounds like a good one. If it works and no problems sounds good. My sherry baby gets spots but I learned to live with it. These are not show plants they are just my plants.

I don't know any orchids that likes water to sit on the leaves. I just read some place that someone saw more spots when water was left on the leaf. SO I am just going by what I read. I personally never let the leave have water sitting on them and I don't have spots.

I also think that the spots are normal and some plants just have it due to genetics. But I am not 100% sure on that.

6 spikes!!! That's fabulous.

Some Zygos are known for spotting on their leaves, not sure Zygonisia hybrids are as much but it's definitely a common problem. You might consider posting it in a new thread if you're worried about it though I suspect it is the common spotting.

I've also heard that getting water on the leaves will increase the spotting. I have a Zygo hybrid with TONS of streaking and spotting. Orchidsarefun is also quite familiar with Zygo spotting.

Actually it only has 5. 3 off of one new growth which is strange . I got it from trader joes. I was waiting to clear up memory on my camera . I just posted it in the pests and disease forum . Thanks

5 is still awesome! And three off one growth, that's even better! Means it was a happy plant. Now hopefully you can repeat that under your care. I've got 'Blue Water Sailing' that I bought in bloom. It has two new growths doesn't seem like it will spike while the other has a short spike with three buds. I want to learn how to make them happy enough to grow multiple spikes with more blooms!

If you are asking what the ID of that plant is this is what it is because I have one. Zygo cynosure "blue bird" orchid is the name. I have attached 2 pictures of mine below.
