I've been having something of a rough week, so when I stopped at Trader Joe's and saw this cutie, I had to pick it up

I know Phals are notoriously hard to ID, but the coloring on this was so unique--I felt like I've seen it somewhere before. Also, it has a slight scent, which really sealed the deal for me It smells sort of citrus-y, but also kind of powder-y. It's nice.

If anyone has any ideas on what this could be, I'd love to hear! I know it will most likely remain a NOID, which is fine, but it's so unique that I was curious.

That is very cute, it's a mini right? I don't know what it is but looks more like a species than any others I have seen in a store like that. I know it's not but looks closer.

Thanks! It is in a 3-inch pot, and quite a bit bigger than some of the mini phals I have. It's nowhere near as big as some of them, though. I thought it looked like it might have a species as a more immediate ancestor And it's fragrant! I haven't encountered a fragrant phal before!

P.S. sorry for the weird formatting--for whatever reason my computer doesn't feel like quoting posts normally

Looks like a bellina hybrid of some sort, but that's about as close as you can get I think.
This kind of hybrid can come out in the range of "clean" yellow to deep magenta and anything in between. There!

It is very cute and nicely spotted though.
Very cheery color and I'm sure the scent is very good.
Good for you!

I bought one like yours a few months ago from Trader Joe's. I would be interested in knowing what it is, but I think we will have to accept that they will be NOIDs.

That does look so similar! I love the magenta on the yellow--it makes it look exotic in my opinion haha.

That's a great idea! Such a nice surprise When I was there, they had these GORGEOUS cymbidiums for only $20! But I forced myself to walk away, because they came up to my knees! How would I water that monster--in the shower?? Plus, I'm staying with my parents during grad school to save money...I didn't think they'd appreciate my bringing home a shrub
